Columbus Regional Airport Authority - Columbus, Ohio

• Geographic Information System Pilot and Implementation Project

  Based on a geographic information system (GIS) needs assessment commissioned by the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, CDM performed an analysis and prioritization of GIS application requirements and developed an implementation plan to meet those requirements.
  
  The three-phase, 5-year implementation plan addressed a prioritized application development schedule, plans to use and/or develop data layers to support background mapping and applications (i.e., runways/taxiways, lighting/signage, parking facilities), and hardware and software procurement necessary to maintain and deliver the GIS data.
  
  Included in CCI's responsibilities was the development of a separate parcel database from data drawn from County records using the parcel number as the key. CCI located fire extinguishers in public and non-public spaces in airport terminal and parking garages, and created information layers for each level pinpointing location of all fire extinguishers, tagging symbols with fire extinguisher ID number. In addition, CCI converted existing AutoCAD drawings for Port Columbus International, Bolton, and Rickenbacker airports to the new GIS layering scheme and converted all Record/As-Built drawing sets to PDF format.
• Storm Water Management Plan

  This engineering services contract involved modeling storm water flows for the entire Port Columbus International Airport facility. The study evaluated existing conditions/capacity and projected needs determined by current and planned major airfield redevelopment involved with a new terminal, relocated runway and taxiways, and realigned airport access roads.
  
  CCI prepared maps and graphics for the single existing and four development milestone conditions, including adjusting boundaries and calculating areas for the nine basins and approximately 135 sub-basins for each of the five study development conditions.

Cleveland Hopkins Airport - Cleveland, Ohio

• Taxiway Q Hold Pad

  CCI developed CAD standards for the project; provided QA/QC and integration of work from all sub-contractors to create initial plan view of the project; and developed section views for existing and new pavement designs, site drainage profile drawings, grading details and utilities.

Tampa International Airport - Tampa, Florida

• Concourse A Flooring Replacement

  CCI worked with RS&H on this design project to replace existing flooring in concourse A with new carpet and tile in separately bid packages.
  
  CCI developed the plan set for the tile package. The complex riverine pattern used for the 22,000 sq.ft. design involved tiles ground precisely to size in 2 sizes and 4 colors with 1/8 inch grout joints laid along extensive flowing curves. The task required that the designer's scheme be precisely laid out in CAD using the exact ground tile size and grout joint dimension. Tile pattern layout points were identified using a column-grid-based project coordinate system identifying incremental layout lines, layout line/curve intersections and start/end/center and radius of all curves, which were calculated and labeled using custom CAD routines developed by CCI for the project. This award-winning design replaced carpeting with tile for the entire concourse area of Tampa International Airport.
